Membership Information
LEVELS OF MEMBERSHIP
Regular Membership includes supervisors, assessors and assessor associates of the counties of Maryland, Baltimore City and other qualified persons of the State Department of Assessments and Taxation.
Honorary membership may be granted in the Association by vote of the majority of the members present at any General Membership meeting. An honorary member is a non-dues-paying and non-voting member.
Honorary life membership shall be granted to all members of the association who have retired from their positions and who, at the time of such retirement, were members in good standing. An honorary life member is a non-dues-paying and non-voting member.
DUES
Annual dues for the current year are $20.00 per year. Annual membership is from January 1st through December 31st in a given calendar year. ALL dues shall be payable in full and are not prorated.
To join the Maryland Association of Assessing Officers print the attached Membership form and send along with your annual dues to Treasurer Dan Phillips at the Department of Assessments and Taxation, 201 Baptist Street, Salisbury, MD 21801.
Benefits of Membership
Benefits include a quarterly member newsletter, discounted registration fees to the educational conferences, the opportunity to earn CEU's at the annual MAAO Educational Conference to meet the continuing education requirements for licensing by the Maryland Real Estate Appraisers Commission, scholarships for approved courses and the CMPA designation after a successful completion of a narrative appraisal.
